Frequently asked questions
A wide range of difficulties in adults, including anxiety, depression, panic, health anxiety, stress and burnout, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD and other trauma, as well as perinatal mental health. If you’re not sure whether we can help with what you’re facing, say so in the get-started questionnaire and our clinical team will give you a straight answer.
You join a secure video call at an agreed time, usually once a week for 50 minutes. A link is sent ahead of each appointment, and the session itself runs much like an in-person one would.
£130 for 50 minutes. There’s no extra charge for getting started, and full detail on fees and payment is on our pricing page.
No, we don’t offer a free first session. The get-started questionnaire is free and commits you to nothing, and it’s how our clinical team decides whether we’re a good fit before your first paid session.
No. You can refer yourself directly through get started. A GP referral isn’t required to work with us privately.
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancelling with less notice than that may still mean the full fee applies, because the slot was held for you and turned away from anyone else.
It depends on your policy and provider, so the best route is to raise it with us directly during get started. We can talk through what your insurer is likely to ask for, such as pre-authorisation or a referral letter.
Yes, subject to the same professional exceptions that apply to any UK-regulated psychologist: a risk to your safety or someone else’s, or a legal duty to disclose. Your psychologist would normally talk to you about this first if either applied. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
Somewhere private where you won’t be interrupted, and a reasonably stable internet connection. Most people join by laptop, tablet or phone.
No, adults only. If you’re looking for support for a child or young person, your GP or school can point you towards local NHS child and adolescent mental health services.
Our clinical team reads through your answers, matches you with a psychologist from the team, and gets back to you to arrange a first session, usually within a few working days.
By bank transfer or card, in advance of each session. Payment details are confirmed once you’ve been matched with a psychologist.
For most of what we treat, yes. The evidence for online delivery is broadly comparable to in-person therapy, particularly for structured approaches like CBT and EMDR.
No, every session is delivered online by secure video. We’re clinical psychologists working with adults across Brighton and East Sussex, and we’ll update this site as the practice develops.
We’re not a crisis service. If you’re in immediate danger or having thoughts of harming yourself, contact your GP, call 999, or speak to the Samaritans on 116 123, free and available 24 hours a day.
