What we’re working towards

Thriving Minds Collective Ltd, trading as The Brighton Psychologists, built this site against Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, aiming for it to work whatever device or assistive technology a visitor is using.

What’s already in place

• Semantic HTML5 markup, giving assistive technology a proper structure of headings, lists and landmarks to work with.
• A keyboard route through every part of the navigation, mobile menu and FAQ accordions included.
• A skip link at the top of each page, letting keyboard users jump straight past repeated navigation.
• Visible focus states on anything interactive, so it’s obvious where you are when tabbing through a page.
• Colour contrast on text and buttons checked against WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds.
• Clearly labelled form fields and plain-language error messages, including on the get-started form.
• Text that still reads properly at up to 200 per cent browser zoom.
• Layout tested across phone, tablet and desktop screens.

Where we might not be there yet

We keep checking the site and fixing issues as they turn up, though a self-review like this one can’t promise every page hits every WCAG criterion at every moment. Flag anything that doesn’t behave as it should rather than working round it.
